Just out of curiosity, what did you write as the definition?
And in regards to MM, my thoughts exactly!
Just the one in the glossary :). So 'A collaborative initiative endorsed by the Commonwealth and State and Territory governments. The initiative seeks to focus the health's sectors attention on diseases or conditions that have major impacts on the health of Australians. The initiative represents the disease groups with the most burden of disease and potential costs (direct, indirect, intangibe) to the community.

Currently: Physiotherapist working at a musculoskeletal clinic. Back pain, sore neck, headaches or any other pain limiting your study? Give me a PM (although please do see your personal health professional first!)

Any questions related to pathways towards studying dentistry or physiotherapy? Gimmi a PM!

Hey guys,

Just a heads up for those using the textbook: "Key Concepts in VCE Health & Human Development"

There seems to be a print error on some textbooks on page 239. The mission of VicHealth and Strategic priorities of VicHealth listed on some textbooks are from the previous study design.

Mission should list:
- Promote good health in partnership with others
- Recognize that the social and economic conditions for all people influence their health
- Promote fairness and opportunity for better health
- Support initiatives that assist individuals, communities, workplaces and broader society to improve wellbeing
- Seek to prevent conditions for all Victorians

Strategic Priorities should list:
- Promote healthy eating
- Encourage regular physical activity
- Prevent tobacco use
- Prevent harm from alcohol
- Improve mental wellbeing

My first week back was really good - I think I was getting bored at home because I'm just keen to get year 12 done!
We had our SAC on NHPAs and Nutrition on Tuesday, and that was pretty standard. There was nothing on it that really surprised me, but I would have probably made a few silly errors unfortunately  :(

We are just about to start the Ottawa Charter this week, after going through the biomedical and social models on health in our other class on Thursday.

I know what you mean, I just got so sick of doing work at home everyday and trying recover, I was sort of looking forward to going back... And then when I got back, I wanted to go back home and sleep. I'm sure you did great on your hhd sac  :)

Welcome back MM, we've all missed you :).

I think we've just finished that and are starting on Medicare, and our sac is in 2 or 3 weeks :-O

I don't think it's too bad, it's just very different from the AOS 1 content.

I think my school has the NHPA SAC in like 2 weeks. Might be combined with other stuff though.

Also, a textbook questions asks me how NHPA programs are implemented. What's it asking me to write?

It wants you to discuss how the program achieves it's aim. For example, the 'life, taking action on diabetes' runs weekly classes to educate individuals at risk of developing type 2 diabetes healthy lifestyles(such as regular physical activity, nutrition) in order to reach it's aim of reducing the prevalence of type 2 diabetes in Australia.

You could write something like a brief description of the program, its aim(s) and what it does to target certain disease or condition.
