Hi Elyse,
I just started year 12. With regards to The English Paper 1, section 2: Imaginative Writing- I just wanted to know what limitations are there with regard to form. What I mean is, I usually revert to narratives, when the stimulus is general. Are there any other text types/ forms that you would suggest. Eg. a reflection or diary entry or even anything else? 'Caus to be honest, I haven't really done anything but narratives before.
Thanks,
Samuel
not Elyse haha, but I have my opinions on this that I thought i'd share

I had two creatives memorised since the beginning of the year which I planned to use, the choice between which depended upon what the stimulus was. One of my creatives was a 3rd person narrative, and the other was a 1st person reflection. The reflection, pretty much without fail (especially within the HSC on Wednesday!), would always fit with the stimulus better than the 3rd person narrative, and was much easier to adapt to a tricky stimulus. I found it a lot easier to adapt a character driven narrative than a plot driven one. I also found it a lot easier with a reflection to demonstrate more varied experiences of discovery, as it was a lot easier to include and expand upon emotional, personal and spiritual discoveries, while also working fine for physical discoveries.
So yeah! I'd definitely consider a personal reflection or a diary entry for your creative! Though narratives, if that is what you are most comfortable still work perfectly fine

Just my experience was reflection was easier.
Either way, I'm sure you're going to absolutely smash it! Good luck with year 12!
