I agree, but the problem is, you're going to be juggling a lot of other things then, and you can't really afford any setbacks.  Also you wouldn't really wan't to fall behind on unit 4 because you were too busy doing umat prep.

well perhaps it's more beneficial to "fall behind on unit 4" then it is to not do the UMAT prep in that time. considering that the amount done instead for the UMAT could be the amount that gave you just enough %ile to get an interview for medicine or dentistry or whatever you needed a certain UMAT score for.

however, doing a few practice drills or half a prac exam a day isn't really gonna affect much of your other studies during that month and a half anyways.

yeah it is pretty empty, but the UI and formatting is also really lame/budget.  but all that really matters is the content of the materials, which looks to be quite good.

......and for a good forum, we already have VN :)

you sit the test on paper i would have assumed?

the grades work by each section is marked out of something (like /65 or /45), then they are all scaled weirdly so each section is out of /100, and then you get a final score out of /300 which corresponds to a percentage. so that 200+ is usually 100%ile. and 180 is around 90%ile.
ect

the most recent interviews for 2010 entry had a cutoff of 90%ile, but yeah the year before for 2009 entry was 93%ile.

so stonecold- there's a UMAT cutoff for interview (stated above) and no ATAR is taken into count until after interview, which they said requirement is "high 90s" everything is taken into consideration in the end with the interview being counted for the most.
it just sucks that umat decides everything initially

that blows big time!  does anyone know what percentage of students offered interviews are given an offer?

also some numbers would be good.  anyone know how many people actually sit the UMAT every year?
Say for example 2,000 sit the UMAT, and the cutoff is 93%, the top 7% will get interviews.  i.e. 140 students
Then "x" percent of those students get offers?

...and whilst I am asking a million questions, *sorry*  how long does each section go for and how many questions are in each section?
