It just really goes to show that the actual number scores in your SACs mean nothing at all :)

so just aim for top 3 in cohort?

Aim to be at the top :)

EDIT: Wow this can be interpreted wrong, I meant around the top, as in I can't give a number, so just aim to be one of the top ones :)

VCE: English, Health, Legal, Psych, Further, Chem
2015: Arts/Law @ Monash

Guys I only doubled with Arts because I couldn't let go of Psych and wanted to keep doing it as a major at least, but I took International Studies on a whim after the info session just because I needed a minor, and I love it so much! It's 3:29am and I had to share this, I think I'm majoring in it bye.

Could someone help me 'brainstorm' events that may have affected life expectancy over the past 2 centuries.
I have WW1 and WW2, global warming and Spanish flu epidemic so far, but my mind is blank.

Not exactly an event, but how about the rise of medicinal technology and wider access to health services?

You don't necessarily need to have prehistoric evidence.
You're allowed to make assumptions such as;
Healthier/Worse eating habits (foods high in saturated/trans fats etc.)
Advances in medical technology (you'll learn about the biomedical model of health)
More awareness of diseases/bad lifestyles through a production of more health promotion programs (you'll learn more about the social model of health)
Higher/lower sedentary lifestyles and/or occupations that have become more sedentary now.

I didn't think I did, but I didn't know because I had to watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbkSRLYSojo
Answer: 'Identify two events that affected life expectancy in the early 1900s and then the one I just mentioned.

I'll put those down. Thanks guys! :)

My teacher said we need to know all the definitions exactly 'word by word' or else we lose the mark. Is this true tubbs?

My teacher was pretty strict on marking !
I think you should know some of the definitions word for word (e.g. morbidity, health status indicators ) and when you get to stuff like "Ottawa Charter" and "social model" , you have to have a definition that is close , but doesn't have to word for word.

Yupp! :) Whenever you have an "official" definition (like one that's created by WHO, UN, VicHealth, AIHW, etc) try to aim for it to be very close or exact to the real definition - don't go so far as to totally paraphrase it into your own words as assessors usually look to see if it matches the real "official" definition :) Official definitions include Health, all the health status indicators, health promotion, human development, sustainability, to name a few :) :) For your sacs though, your teacher may be more or less strict or lenient when it comes to definitions so I guess you could ask them if it has to be word-to-word for sacs :)
